China D4 Evaluation
In early 2018, GSC entered into a tri-partite agreement with the China Association of Fluorine and Silicone Industry (CAFSI), and the Solid Waste and Chemical Management and Technology Center (SCC), to conduct an environmental risk evaluation of D4 in China. The intent of the evaluation was to address Chinese facilities that manufacture, process, and/or use D4. The results of this monitoring helped inform the D4 environmental exposure and risk assessment. Based on the results of this assessment, which is now complete authorities concluded that no restrictions on the use of D4 in products or on the release of D4 from facilities was necessary. Risk assessments of D5 and D6 in China are ongoing.
